Classical music returns to one of Sarajevo’s most impressive venues when the Western Balkans Youth Orchestra (WBYO) performs at the National Theatre Sarajevo on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 20:00. The concert is part of the orchestra’s international “Be Embraced” Summer 2026 tour, bringing together talented young musicians from across the Western Balkans and Europe. WBYO was founded to connect young musicians across cultural and national borders through professional orchestral performance.

Event Information Date: August 25, 2026 Time: 20:00 Venue: National Theatre Sarajevo Address: Obala Kulina bana 9, Sarajevo

Event: Western Balkans Youth Orchestra – “Be Embraced” The Sarajevo programme is expected to include works by Paul Dukas, George Enescu, Ottorino Respighi and Richard Wagner, together with premieres of new compositions by emerging Western Balkan composers. WBYO's website! Visitors should check the orchestra or National Theatre website shortly before the concert for final ticket information and programme updates.

Getting to the National Theatre

The National Theatre is located in the heart of Sarajevo, directly beside the Miljacka River and within walking distance of Ferhadija Street, Baščaršija and the city centre. Its official address is Obala Kulina bana 9. NPS.BA Visitors arriving by rental car from Sarajevo International Airport should normally allow around 20–30 minutes, with additional time during afternoon traffic.

Parking Near the Theatre

Parking immediately around the National Theatre can be limited. If you are travelling by rental car, arriving at least 30–45 minutes early is advisable. Several public and underground parking options are available in central Sarajevo. Another practical solution is to park near the city centre and walk to the theatre. Avoid leaving passports, luggage, cameras or other valuables visible inside your vehicle.

Before the Concert

The theatre’s central location makes it easy to combine the evening performance with sightseeing. Before the concert you can walk through Baščaršija, Ferhadija Street, the Latin Bridge and the Miljacka riverfront, or stop for dinner at one of the restaurants in the city centre. Visitors staying longer in Sarajevo can use a rental car for day trips to Mostar, Travnik, Jajce, Trebević, Bjelašnica or Vrelo Bosne.

The Western Balkans Youth Orchestra concert offers a different side of Sarajevo’s summer cultural programme: an evening of orchestral music in one of the city’s most historic cultural venues.

Getting there by car

Free meet & greet at Sarajevo Airport, unlimited mileage on most categories, and CDW plus theft protection included as standard.
