Solomun in Sarajevo 2026: Free Open-Air Concert and Driving Guide

Sarajevo will end its 2026 Film Festival with one of the city’s biggest open-air parties. On Friday, 21 August, Solomun returns to the balcony above the Eternal Flame, turning central Titova Street into a large dance floor for visitors and local audiences. The programme is listed from 19:00 until late, and entry is free with no ticket required.

Born in Travnik and raised in Hamburg, Mladen Solomun is now one of electronic music’s best-known artists. His melodic house and techno sets have taken him from Ibiza to Coachella. In Sarajevo, his huge street shows at the same location in 2019 and 2022 are still remembered by local audiences.

Getting to the concert

The Eternal Flame is at Maršala Tita 58, in the centre of Sarajevo. Titova Street will become part of the event area, so visitors should not expect to drive or park beside the stage. Road restrictions and diversions are also likely in the surrounding streets.

If you have a rental car, leave it at your accommodation or use a legal garage outside the event zone, then continue on foot or by tram. Marijin Dvor, Skenderija or a confirmed hotel garage will be more practical than the streets beside the venue. Check closing hours, remove visible luggage and photograph the parking location.

Sarajevo Airport is roughly 10–12 kilometres from the centre. The drive normally takes 20–30 minutes, but Film Festival traffic can add time. Visitors collecting a car at SJJ should check in and park before the evening rather than drive directly to the concert.

Planning the evening

Arrive early: free entry on the Film Festival’s closing night will attract a large crowd. Wear comfortable shoes, carry only essential belongings and check the organizer’s latest rules. August evenings are usually warm, but a light layer or rain jacket can be useful later.

If you plan to drink alcohol, do not drive. Leave the rental car parked overnight or agree on a completely sober driver in advance. Driving under the influence can invalidate rental insurance as well as create serious legal and safety consequences.

Make more of the visit

A car is not useful for the final metres to the Eternal Flame, but it is valuable elsewhere. Visitors can drive to Trebević, the Tunnel of Hope, Vrelo Bosne or the Olympic mountains. With another full day, Konjic and Mostar make a rewarding route south.

Because the concert coincides with the final night of the Film Festival, book accommodation and a vehicle early.
