Sarajevo’s summer calendar gets another food and music highlight with Dani Piva i Hrane 2026, taking place from 26 to 30 August 2026 at Park Hastahana in the Marijin Dvor area. The festival combines more than 50 types of beer, a wide selection of food, live music and an open-air atmosphere, making it an easy event to include in a Sarajevo city break.
Event Information
Dates: 26–29 August 2026 Location: Park Hastahana, Sarajevo Festival opening: 18:00 daily Entry: Free
The programme includes live performances throughout the festival, alongside food stands and a large selection of beers. Visitors should check the organizer's latest programme for the exact performers scheduled on each evening.
Where Is Park Hastahana?
Park Hastahana, officially Nijaz Duraković Park, is in Marijin Dvor, close to Sarajevo's city centre. The location is convenient for tourists staying around Marijin Dvor, Ferhadija or Baščaršija. It is also close to several Sarajevo attractions, shopping centres, cafés and restaurants. You can easily combine the festival with a walk through the city centre before arriving at Hastahana in the evening.
Getting There by Rent a Car Sarajevo service providers.
From Sarajevo International Airport, the journey to Hastahana normally takes around 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. There are several Rent a Car Sarajevo airport service providers at the terminal.
However, driving directly to the festival shortly before 19:00 may be inconvenient because of increased evening traffic and limited parking around Marijin Dvor. If you have a rental car, arrive early and use an authorized parking area or garage nearby. After parking, walking to Hastahana is generally easier than trying to move the vehicle around central Sarajevo.
Parking Tips
Parking spaces around Marijin Dvor can fill quickly during popular summer events. Use marked parking spaces or official garages and avoid blocking pavements, entrances or residential access. If you are travelling with a rental car, do not leave passports, luggage, cameras or other valuables visible inside the vehicle. Food, Beer and Responsible Driving The main attraction is the combination of beer, street food and live entertainment. With more than 50 beer varieties advertised for the festival, visitors can expect a broad selection of drinks alongside different food options. If you are driving, choose a designated driver who does not drink alcohol. Alternatively, leave the rental car parked and return to your accommodation by taxi or on foot.
Never drive after drinking.
What to Do Before the Festival
Hastahana's location makes it easy to spend the afternoon exploring Sarajevo. Visit Baščaršija and Sebilj, walk through Ferhadija, see the Latin Bridge and Sarajevo City Hall, or explore the museums and shops around Marijin Dvor. Visitors staying longer can use a rental car to explore Trebević Mountain, Vrelo Bosne, Bjelašnica and the Tunnel of Hope. For longer day trips, consider Mostar, Travnik, Jajce, Blagaj or Kravica Waterfalls. With free entry, food, beer and live music in a central Sarajevo location, Dani Piva i Hrane 2026 is a convenient addition to a summer visit to the city.
Getting there by car
Free meet & greet at Sarajevo Airport, unlimited mileage on most categories, and CDW plus theft protection included as standard.
