AR Rent A Car Rental Terms
Last updated: 7/11/2026
1. Required Documents
To rent and operate a vehicle, the primary driver and any additional authorized drivers must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 21 years of age (a young driver surcharge may apply for drivers under 25).
- Hold a valid, unendorsed driver's license issued at least 2 years prior to the rental date.
- Provide a valid Passport or National Identity Card.
- International renters must provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) if their domestic license is not printed in the Latin alphabet.
2. Booking and Confirmation
The rental agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between AR GROUP d.o.o. SARAJEVO - PODRUŽNICA AR GROUP RENT SARAJEVO (the "Company") and the individual or entity renting the vehicle (the "Renter"). The rental period commences upon the handover of the vehicle keys and concludes when the vehicle is returned to and inspected by an authorized Company representative.
3. Payment and Deposit
A security deposit may be requested at the time of pickup to cover potential excess liability, fuel shortages, or late fees. The deposit is released upon the safe return of the vehicle. Rental charges are calculated on a 24-hour basis.
4. Insurance and Customer Responsibility
All rental vehicles include standard Third-Party Liability insurance as required by the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) are included in standard rates, subject to a mandatory excess/deductible amount specified in your rental agreement.
Exceptions to Insurance Coverage:
Insurance coverage is entirely voided, and the Renter assumes full financial responsibility for all damages, if the vehicle is operated:
- Under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances.
- By an unauthorized or unregistered driver.
- Off-road or on unpaved surfaces resulting in undercarriage or tire damage.
- In violation of any traffic laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
5. Pickup and Return Conditions
Vehicles are provided in good operating condition, clean, and free of undisclosed defects. A joint inspection will be conducted prior to departure, and any existing damage will be documented on the rental agreement. The Renter is responsible for returning the vehicle in the exact same condition. Any new damage, missing accessories (including keys, documents, or spare tires), or requirement for excessive interior cleaning will be charged directly to the Renter's credit card.
6. Fuel Policy
We operate on an as-received fuel policy, meaning that the vehicle needs to be returned with the same amount of fuel it had when it was received. Returning the vehicle with a lesser amount of fuel will cause a charge for the missing fuel at a premium refueling rate, plus an administrative refueling fee.
7. Border Crossing Policy
Standard rentals include unlimited mileage within the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cross-border travel requires explicit prior written authorization from the Company and the issuance of a Green Card, which may incur additional fees.
8. Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation is permitted up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup will incur a fee equivalent to one day's rental charge. Failure to collect the vehicle without prior notice will result in a charge equal to the full rental amount.
